Google has announced that it would be launching a beta version of the next iteration of its popular operating system, Android 11. This would take place during an online event slated for the 3rd of June, as opposed to its I/O developer conference which was canceled due to coronavirus concerns.
The online event would feature a keynote aimed at developers, with a live question and answer session to take place afterwards to address their technical questions regarding developing for the new OS.
Some of the announced features in the search giant’s new mobile OS include the ability to grant apps restricted one-time access to your location, microphone and camera, which can now be granted on a per use basis as opposed to the lifetime access currently granted. It also includes smarter call screening capabilities, which would make it possible to identify and automatically reject robocalls.
Android remains the dominant OS in the world today, with an estimated 9 out of every 10 smartphones being powered by the OS. Are you looking forward to getting your hands on the new version of the OS? Let us know in the comments section below.
