7 Ways to Get Rid of Stretch Marks

Sometimes stretch marks can cover large areas of the body. While pregnancy is the main cause behind stretch marks, other reasons can be sudden gain or loss in weight, rapid growth, heredity factors, stress and changes in physical conditions. Fortunately, there are several natural ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

1. Sugar/Salt

Whether your stretch marks are brand new or several years old, microdermabrasion is an effective way to make them fade away. Professional microdermabrasion procedures may be expensive, but you can achieve a similar effect with a homemade scrub prepared from sugar or salt and a little bit of your favorite natural oil.

2.Castor Oil

Castor oil, which is used in the treatment of a number of skin problems such as wrinkles, age spots, moles, dark spots, fine lines and pimples, can also be used to get rid of stretch marks. Apply some castor oil to the stretch marks and gently massage the area in circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes. Wrap the area with a thin, cotton cloth. Using a hot water bottle or a heating pad, apply some heat to the affected area for at least a half an hour. Repeat daily for maximum effect.

3.Coconut Oil

You probably already have numerous uses for coconut oil in your beauty routine, and stretch marks are another instance where coconut oil can help you. Regularly massaging coconut oil into the areas of your skin affected by stretch marks helps it regain elasticity, increase blood flow, and produce new collagen fibers.

4.Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is effective in the treatment of many skin problems. Its healing and soothing properties can be used to get rid of stretch marks. There are a couple of ways to apply it. Another option is to make a mixture with one-fourth cup of aloe vera gel, oil from 10 vitamin E capsules and oil from five vitamin A capsules. Rub this mixture onto the skin until fully absorbed. Repeat this process daily.

 5.Eggs

Eggs, especially egg whites, are rich in amino acids. These acids help your skin repair itself faster, making stretch marks less visible and eventually removing them completely. For this treatment, take one egg and separate the white from the yolk. Whist the egg shite in a bowl, apply to the required area and allow it to dry naturally before rinsing off.

6.Lemon Juice

Another simple way to lessen stretch marks is to use lemon juice. Lemon juice is naturally acidic which helps heal and reduce stretch marks, acne, and other scars. Rub fresh lemon juice gently onto the stretch marks using circular motions. Allow the lemon juice to soak into your skin for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

 7.Potatoes

Potatoes have proven to be very effective against multiple skin conditions, including stretch marks. To try this remedy, peel one potato and grate it finely. Press the grated potato through a sieve to get clear potato juice. You can add some lemon juice to it for a stronger lightening effect or a couple of drops of oil if your skin is extremely dry. Next, simply rub the juice into your skin, allow it to try, and apply another layer. Overall, you will need 4 to 5 layers in the same session for a visible result.

8.Vitamin E

In many cases, stretch marks occur when your skin loses elasticity. A simple way to help your skin regain the elasticity and become firmer is vitamin E applied directly to the skin. Take a capsule of vitamin E oil, pierce it, and massage the oil into your skin for 5 to 10 minutes. If possible, leave the oil on your skin overnight or, at least, for 2-3 hours before showering.
